Warehouse Project Easter: Artist Profiles

The Warehouse Project Presents:
THE LOST WEEKENDS - Part 1
Easter Bank Holiday Weekend,
Friday 21st
Easter. A time for peaceful reflection and quiet celebration. A time for family outings and chocolate eggs…Well, that’s all very well and good but what about the raving?! What about getting together with a bunch of your best mates, hearing some of the finest electronic bands out there and raving all-night long?! Forget the egg’s, tell your mum you’ll see her on Easter Sunday and join us as Ed Banger, Modular and Kitsune present a line up to really get eggcited about…couldn’t help it.

The Presets [ Live ]

Aussie duo The Presets are one of those acts that defy categorization. Taking in electro, pop, punk funk, swirling synths and screaming guitars typified by their debut album Beams, The Presets are the jewell in the Modular crown. Expect a chaotic, experimental, sweat drenched live show that’ll leave you beaming from ear to ear and screaming for more.

The Whip [ Live ]

Descibed by Mixmag (and just about everyone else) as brilliant, The Whip took 2007 by storm. Like watching some sort of super group made up of The Klaxons, The Rapture, Kraftwerk and Justice, their kaleidoscope of sounds remain instantly recognisable and rock dancefloors from the biggest super club to the smallest indie disco. Forget Madchester, this is the sound of Manchester 2008.

Ladyhawke [ Live ]

A relative newcomer to the Modular stable and our tip for 2008, Ladyhawke fuses retro influences (think classic rock, 80’s dance and a smattering of disco) with a voice like a bastardised Chrissy Hind (ask your Mum). Check out tracks like “Paris is Burning” and “Back of the Van” and you’ll see what we mean.

Felix Da Housecat
20 years after he first stepped into the studio and 6 years since he teamed up with Miss Kitten on seminal electro tune “Silver Screen (Shower Scene), Felix Da Housecat remains one of the most in demand DJ’s on the planet. From his early Chicago house beginnings to single-handedly spear heading the electro-clash movement, catch the man who has influenced so many at his biggest Manchester show to date.

Busy P

DJ, producer, band manager, record label boss and remixer extraordinaire …Is there anything Busy P can’t do?! When it comes to dance music in France, this guy is THE man! Daft Punks tour DJ and the man behind Ed Banger records and comes to the WHP for a rare Manchester appearance. Trust us, he’s very, very good. Oh, and he’s bringing a friend.

SebastiAN

If The Whip were the band of 2007, then SebastiAN was the DJ of 2007. 2006’s brilliant Ross Ross Ross EP brought Sebastian to the attention of the dancefloor masses which lead to a string of high profile remixes. Bloc Party, The Rapture, The Klaxons and Rage Against The Machine all received the SebastiAN treatment to high acclaim. Indeed, there are few artists who can claim to push a sound as unique as SebastiAN.

Damian is truly a globe trotting DJ with a world wide pedigree for delivering the best in underground techno, house and electro. His Crosstown Rebels label showcases some of the most forward thinking dance music in Europe from the likes of Dinky, Pier Bucci and Jamie Jones.
