The Warehouse Project Presents:
THE LOST WEEKENDS – Part 2
Warehouse Project Manchester | Warehouse Project Tickets
Saturday 3rd May - Cocoon at The Warehouse Project.
For many of us, the Cocoon event at last years Warehouse Project was
THE stand out night of the whole three months. A full house already high
on the excitement and anticipation of finally seeing Sven Vath back in
Manchester, fused with the hypnotic, tripped out techno to create an
atmosphere and vibe reminiscent of Cocoon's very own mega raves in
Ibiza and Frankfurt. In May we prepare to do it all again as we welcome
three of dance musics finest artistic talent to celebrate the first May Bank
Holiday.Cocoon style.
Ricardo Villalobos
One man party machine Ricardo Villalobos has been on our hit list for
sometime. The Chilean born DJ has an unbridled passion for music that
has seen him perform in all four corners of the globe and produce
countless tracks for seminal labels, Playhouse and Perlon. Last years
mixed reception to his Fabric mix took little away from the fact that he is
one of the few artists in the world able to release a high profile mix made
up entirely of his own compositions. Epic remixes of Shackleton's “Blood
On My Hands” and Depeche Mode's “Sinner in Me” offered proof if it were
needed, that Villalobos has very few peers when it comes to creating such
astonishing minimal techno.
Raresh
Raresh, alongside fellow Romanians Rhadoo and Petre Inspirescu,
emerged as one of the brightest young talents in minimal techno in 2007.
The trio's label Ar:pi:ar has been supported hugely by the likes of Ricardo
Villalobos, Luciano and Sven Vath with the warm, spaced-out house and
techno so characteristic of Raresh's own DJ sets. This will be the
Manchester debut of a man destined for bigger things in 2008 with slots
already lined up for the summer season with Circo Loco and Cocoon's
Ibiza residencies.
Josh Wink
Josh Wink returns to Manchester after a four year hiatus. DJ, remixer,
label owner and artist, Wink is another man who is held in such high
regard by fellow artists and dancefloor aficionado's alike. With a trademark
sound that straddles the gaps between house and techno and a string of
era defining releases (“Higher State of Consciousness” anyone?!), Josh
Wink remains a hugely inspirational force to many of today's electronic
artists.
